The Department of Conservation and Recreation held a public information meeting September 23, 2025, at the Powhatan County Village Building Auditorium. This meeting introduced the master planning process, summarized existing resources and information about the park, and informed the public about public outreach and engagement opportunities so that the public can provide input about the need for new and improved recreational facilities and amenities at the park.

Now that the park has drafted recommendations for the park’s future, the Department of Conservation and Recreation will hold the public comment meeting on March 31, 2026, at the Powhatan County Village Building Auditorium at 6:30 p.m.
The purpose of the meeting is to obtain feedback on the recommendations of the proposed master plan, including the new park mission statement, interpretive themes, goals and objectives, and locations of new and improved recreational facilities. At the end of the meeting, the public will have an opportunity to ask questions and provide their feedback on the proposed development plan. Also, you can submit your comments by email to PlanningResources@dcr.virginia.gov at any time through April 30, 2026.
