Virginia State Parks' Ranger Conservation Corps

If you’ve ever thought, “I wish I could get paid to hang out in a state park,” then guess what? You can. Virginia State Parks is accepting application for its new internship program, Ranger Conservation Corps.
RCC gives you the chance to learn from seasoned park professionals and build a career in conservation, recreation or environmental education.

What is RCC?
The RCC is a hands-on, immersive internship program designed to train the next generation of conservation leaders. It blends the best parts of previous programs like the Virginia Service and Conservation Corps and the Park Ranger Career Development Program into one dynamic experience.
Interns will dive into:
- Park operations
- Environmental education and interpretation
- Resource management
- Special capstone projects
And yes, you’ll get paid while doing it.

- Application period: Dec. 15, 2025 – Jan. 9, 2026
- Program start: Summer 2026
- Duration: 12 weeks
- Hours: An average of 35 to 40 hours per week
- Pay: Hourly wage
- Housing: Available at certain park placements
